School Apparel Pick-up
Uniform items from the first ordering window are in! In an effort to minimize wait time during open house and supply drop-off, we will be allowing students to pick-up apparel orders August 1st - 3rd between 9:00am and 2:00pm at Eastside.
Girls Basketball
Girls basketball open gyms dates and times are listed on the Eastside Events calendar on the school website. All those interested in trying out for our team are encouraged to attend open gyms. Girls’ basketball tryouts will be Thursday, August 11th and Friday, August 12th from 5-7 PM. Participants must attend both days of tryouts to make the team. You must bring a copy of your sports physical to tryouts on August 11th to participate. You can also bring a copy of your sports physical to open gyms if you want to make sure Coach has it before tryouts. The KHSAA sports physical form is linked to the Eastside Website. If you have any questions contact Coach Downs at [email protected].
Apparel
Items ordered in this first ordering window have a projected arrival BEFORE the start of school.
The site is now open again and will remain open through August 10. This is the second ordering window. Items ordered from July 15 through August 10 will have a projected delivery date of September 1st.
Delivery dates are PROJECTED, as we cannot predict potential shipping and supply chain conflicts. There could be a chance that partial orders are ready for pick up; however, our desire is to have all items ready by the determined dates. Please understand that some scenarios could be out of our control.
Eastside apparel is not required, but our apparel sales and our annual mum sale are our only fundraisers for the year. Proceeds from both are used to support the many school-wide programs we offer at Eastside. The money goes back to our learning community. The clothing is durable. We have students currently wearing apparel from 8 years ago and often apparel is passed down from sibling to sibling. View our DRESS CODE.

SERVICE PROJECT
SERVICE is one of four Eastside virtues and we want to keep service as priority, even through the summer. Our summer service project supports Jonny's Wagon. Jonny's Wagon is an outreach of My Daily Armor Ministries (*MDA) that partners with communities to help end hunger in America. They help provide basic needs to the homeless and those living at or below the poverty line. The ministry currently conducts weekly community food drives to collect food to stock food pantries located around Louisville and surrounding areas. MDA and it's outreach ministries are all nonprofits and depend on donations by partners such as local area churches, community groups, local businesses, and willing individuals.
The Jr leadership team, which includes current Eastside students, has organized a 5K run to raise money for their program to build and place additional food pantries in areas that are lacking and are working with the Mt Washington Lion's Club to provide pantries for several locations. The 5K will take place in Mt Washington at the Sports Complex at the start of the annual Fall Festival.
We encourage our students to give of their OWN money rather than to ask the adults in the home to contribute. If students do not have their own funds, they can do chores to earn money for the donation. We give each student of goal of contributing at least $10. This is about giving with a servant's heart and without an expectation to receive anything in return. Our goal is to raise $4,000 as a school.

BARK Notices
Parents, please be aware that BCPS utilizes BARK, an internet safety solution, allowing our schools to detect concerning internet usage. Inappropriate use of technology is thoroughly monitored and EMS administration, as well as district level administration, receive email notices of alarming content. Monitored content includes, but is not limited to: student email correspondence, web searches, saved photos and videos, chats, files, student G Suite and Microsoft 365 accounts, etc. The system monitors for threats of violence, self-harm, cyber-bullying, drug and alcohol related content, and much more. School administrators monitor and are notified of potential threats and inappropriate use of technology. The main goal if this is to keep our students safe while using computer technology.
Please help us make sure your students adhere to the electronic user agreement and the district technology user policy while using their devices. Failure to do so can result in the loss of school technology privileges.
Checking Student Work Completion
Parents, your students are doing great work! We are finding that many times they are completing the work, but forgetting to actually submit the assignments for credit. You can help monitor work completion by checking the CLASS WORK tab in their Google classrooms. If the assignment is gray, it has been submitted. We recommend you end each day with an assignment check. This will allow you to remain up to par with assigned work and will provide an opportunity for open dialogue with your students regarding class work and performance.

Box Tops Needed - Program Changes Listed Below
THE NEXT GENERATION OF BOX TOPS IS HERE! NO MORE CLIPPING, SIMPLY SCAN YOUR RECEIPT.
Box Tops is changing to fit today's families. The new and improved Box Tops mobile app uses state-of-the-art technology to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to your school's earnings online.
They're making this change for many reasons, but primarily to modernize the program for the next generation of participants. Mobile phone usage, especially smart phones, has reached a tipping point and people want to have “instant gratification,” seeing how their contributions are impacting their school. With this new technology we can connect an entire school community together in a seamless way to earn for their school. We know that checking expiration dates, counting and bundling clips take a lot of work for schools – and that mailing millions of clips across the country isn’t great for the planet. By eliminating the postage, transportation and shipping of clips, we reduce costs for schools, as well as help reduce our carbon footprint.
MORE CONVENIENT
Redeem anywhere, anytime within 14 days of purchase
REAL TIME
Your school's earnings are automatically updated online Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label. If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.
